About the role
Velvet produces high-quality audiovisual datasets for frontier AI labs and model training. As Forward Deployed Engineer, you bridge platform operations and real-world data collection: manage participant recruitment and qualification, collaborate with leading AI researchers on video dataset creation, develop post-processing scripts for thousands of hours of footage, troubleshoot operational issues (failed uploads, payment flows), and build internal tools to automate workflows. Tech: Python, SQL, Claude Code. Background in ML research, data labeling platforms, or large-scale data pipeline development advantageous. $175K–$200K. San Francisco.
